I designed this partypix promo card for Billy Warhol, the other sides of both are somewhere in the archives are equally cool eye candy, and I also designed his partypix.net (1996) website, which was the best looking website at a time on the internet.

My ad for the Ugly Ducklings show for the Exclaim!, Canadian national music magazine. I saw the show and made photographs.

I was the webmaster for this TSX company, Icebergmedia Inc., and a core member of the initial team that took Canada's first and largest major Internet radio broadcasting company from start-up to launch. I was in charge of building three 24/7 broadcast websites, and responsible for the $4 million a year operations of the web department with a dozen staff following my lead. Some of my duties included production of the templates, user interface design, server side architecture and data flow, presentation to the investors, live shows broadcast, such as the Red Hot Chili Peppers concert on Younge St. etc., backup of all servers/work stations and coordination of the uploads from development to live servers, closly working with other departments, such as systems administrators, network engineers, show hosts/talent, finance, and company executives.

"GREEN" ART SERIES (No.1)

* I used a little of my blood for the ball on top of the city hall and for my signature. I am happy with the resulted pallet, looks soft and very much like the watercolour.

This painting is my archetectural re-design/metaphore of the Toronto City Hall on the Nathan Philips Square. The five human figures give a sense of scale.


Artist Statement.

"GREEN" ART

Being artist is a toxic endeavour. One time I was painting portrait of Dalai Lama using oil paints when my studio manager offered to me some olives, which I ate fast while looking at the painting. Soon however I realized that my hands were covered in the toxic oil paint... 8| so I had to clear my stomach to get rid of it...

It is also toxic on the environment to produce all the art supplies, plus if your pallet is frown out, or, for that matter, your painting if it sucks, this is also hazardous to the environment. not to mention that oil paints are very expensive and require well ventilated studio since it takes weeks for it to dry.

Well, right now I have neither oil paints nor studio, and being inspired to help the environment a bit - being an artist is, arguably, least environmentally friendly proffession but essential for the fuman wellbeing and the advancement of civilization - I`ve decided to experiment with what I could find in my fridge.

I have chopped some beets, carrots, purple cabbage, and boiled some soffron to get the colours: red, orange, purple/blue, and yellow respectivelly. I made two paintings using my new pallet and they turned out looking great! Here is a hint, to get the brightest pigment I would make a drop of colour on a watercolour paper and than dry it under my table light.

People who have seen it love my paintings and the idea, which is btw as old as hell. thanks. Happy trails.

In this studio lived a very good toronto musician with his girfriend, who was renovating it to setup his dream music recording studio and it was in the same building where my art studio was at a time on king and parliament. so i happen to stop by one day, on a full moon, and was inspired by the intricate lace of shadows on the floor. i grabed a piece of canvas laying around and made a fast sketch using the green window-frame paint that was there, then i took it upstairs to my studio and finished it in oil. it is the fastest oil painting i`ve done! my hand was moving so fast that i couldn`t even see what paint i was mixing with my brash, something that i thought of while painting it... when i have finished, the painting turned out to be so beautiful that i realised that i managed to capture the very spirit of the space and i decided to give it to my friend as a present. a few days later he had lost his job and had to vacate his dream space, loosing all his invested efforts and money in its renovation. this painting became the only momento he could keep of the space where he has spent over fifteen years of his life.

This is 1st full mandala of the pentagon tile which I have painted at the Kleinberg farm, aka Twilight farm, near Toronto during summer 2005. It was commissioned by a friend and it is now at his house in Toronto. Imagine that I had this baby in my head for a while before I could finally see it. 8)

This painting was chosen as a cover for the 2006 calendar, first calendar published by the http://www.maps.org to commemorate 100th birthday of Dr. Albert Hofmann, designer of LSD, inside featuring great American artists, such as Alex Gray http://www.alexgrey.com/.

Artist Statement:

Pentagon Tile by Alexander Braun.

Quasi crystal inspired pentagon pattern discovered by a Toronto artist.

It is impossible to tile a pentagon with the same size pentagons in 2D plane without leaving unaccounted for space. By many many attempts were made to come up with a way to tile this basic geometric shape and some were successful, others managed to design nice images containing no tile pattern algorithm.On December 28, 2004, I was visiting an old friend, Yehudah Lionel Cullman, who showed me an x-ray photo of a quasi-crystal forming five-sided symmetry in a science book noting, that as far as he is aware there is still no known way to tile a pentagon.

Inspired by an x-ray picture and challenged by a mystery of the pentagon tile I started to chart my attempt at the impossible. I have realized that the only way to tile a pentagon with only one size pentagons would be in 3D forming the fifth Platonic volume - dodecahedron (i.e. "two plus ten faces" in Greek), where the twelve pentagons enclose 3D space. Still, currious, I decided to try to design a pentagon pattern. I noticed that at the centre of quasi-crystal photo were ten dots forming pentagons aligned in a perfect circle arranged as a ten-pointed star. The fact that here I see ten pentagons in a circle gave me an idea that if I only tile 1/10th slice of it, which is 360/10=36 degrees, then it would be enough to create a tile pattern.

So, I drew one 36 degrees slice of infinity and placed one pentagon at the bottom corner of it where it perfectly matches the 108 degrees of the inner pentagon angles. The rest came in place naturally, as I just continued the pentagon lines to determine what other basic building shapes of the tile are there at the very bottom of the pentagon slice. Then I have discovered that only two triangles with angles of 36'-72'-72' and 108'-36'-36' degrees can form a pentagon tile, both are in the gloden ratio to each other. Thus, these two triangles can form a pentagon, or a star, or a perpetual fractal pentagon pattern, as I have soon realised.

The main dilemma for many who tried to organize pentagons is what to do with the unaccounted for space.In my attempt at it I have soon realized that the unaccounted space between pentagons when tiled within the 36 degrees slices form perfect stars, pentagrams, which makes total sense since it is the shape contained within the pentagon boundaries. The next challenge was to figure out the actual tiling algorithm of the pentagon tile's perpetual expansion of its infinite outer rings. I realized that whatever happens at the bottom is what happens at the top of it, only on a different scale. Soon I noticed that the ring of pentagons is followed by a ring of stars and then by pentagons again in a perpetual rotation based on the power of six, i.e. 6x6x6... etc.,

Traditionally the republican values are: anti war, anti immigration, anti big government, anti global warming propaganda spread by the nuclear industry, also the republicans were first to critisize lies about aids. the republicans have established private home schooling networks in order to protect their young from vaccination and brainwashing. republicans consider themselves fiscally concervative and are against the accumulation of debt and are anti gmo. strangelly, however, the leader of the republican party, ww bush, is a neocon with values which are: pro war, pro immigration, pro vaccination, pro debt accumulation, pro big government, pro global warming, pro aids, west nile, sars, madcow (aka swine flu), avian flu (all boloni), and pro gmo, the values which are traditionally have been embraced by the democratic party. therefore ww bush is a democrat in practice. vote democratic - vote for republicans! :)

A monumental new scientific opinion poll has emerged which declares that only 16% of people in America now believe the official government explanation of the September 11th 2001 terror attacks.

According to the new New York Times/CBS News poll, only 16% of Americans think the government is telling the truth about 9/11 and the intelligence prior to the attacks:

"Do you think members of the Bush Administration are telling the truth, are mostly telling the truth but hiding something, or are they mostly lying?

Telling the truth 16%

Hiding something 53%

Mostly lying 28%

Not sure 3%"

The 84% figure mirrors other recent polls on the same issue. A Canadian Poll put the figure at 85%. A CNN poll had the figure at 89%. Over 80% supported the stance of Charlie Sheen when he went public with his opinions on 9/11 as an inside job.

A recent CNN poll found that the percentage of Americans who blame the Bush administration for the September 11, 2001, attacks on New York and Washington rose from almost a third to almost half over the past four years. This latest poll shows that that figure has again risen exponentially and now stands at well over three quarters of the population.

The state of the republican party is getting desparate to the point that yesterday, thursday, the associated press and fox news (three times) reported that the senator fowley, who got caught in a sex scandal involving a 16 year old page, is a democrat. both news sources later corrected themselves that the senator fowley is actually republican from florida.

The Democratic Wars

One hundred years ago there was small government and big business controlling it. both the government and the big business were growing fast but the government has won the race, and recently it has reversed it's submissive position into a dominant force - it is now the big government who is in control of the big business. however, the government itself, and "it's" money, is still controlled by a small secretive private sector, and the "public"... is performing sorts of a democratic voting rituals which don't really make much effect nor sense on how things are done and why, except for keeping an appearance that it's all quiet here in the wild west.

Soon there are elections in the usa, hooray!, so what does it all mean? well, for starters, the democrats have much beef with the repubelicans, for trying to impeach clinton for getting a head, for starting an illegal war in iraq, for stealing last two elections. therefore the demos have much better reason for wanting to impeach bush, oh ya, add to that 911, there is a terrorist behind every bush nowadays and close to the elections, it seams, the bush is burning.

Republicans are running and finger pointing, especially now having been caought pants down in a pedophile affair involving their house leader, nothing new really, while the democrats fat bureaucrats have been egg faced after the pubes had last two elections stolen from them and kerry's embarrassing admitting the blow... adds insult to injury, in any case, repubes are bad but what about the demo freaks? here are some points to consider, first and foremost, both parties are two puppets of the same master, satan (666), second are -

The four democratic wars:

1. us president woodrow wilson (democratic party) - first elected in 1912, in 1913 creation of the federal reserve bank, which is neither federal (it is private), nor reserve (it has no reserves and btw the fort knox is empty), nor it is a bank, basically what it is is printer of the usa money, i.e. a private group of people who have the license to print money thanks to woodrow wilson being controlled by the bankers. at a time those bankers were the rothschilds, now worth around $usd 300 trillion, who in 1914 have orchestrated the assassination of austrian archduke ferdinand by "anarchists", some say that trotsky was also in on it, and thus started the world war one, which america joined in 1917 right after the inauguration of woodrow wilson into office for the second term.

During that time, in april 1917, trotsky, a us citizen, was arrested in halifax harbor and escorted off the boat, on request from england, and held in canadian custody. he was later released to go to russia to help lenin and his bolshevik revolution funded by the banking elite and organized by the scull and bones through great orion freemasons lodge in paris. tolstoy's war and peace is one side of that story. the rothschilds have also funded karl marx through frederich engels, a german freemason.

However the biggest banking family at a time was warburgs with three brothers located in england (hq), germany, and america with close ties with rothschilds and bernard baruch who was leading american banker and connected to so called mr. house aka kernel house, first political adviser to wilson, from texas, same as carl rove, who was bush's main adviser from texas. reportedly wilson has declared that "mr house is my soul brother, everything he has told you to do is as though i am telling you to do it."

At the end of wwi woodrow wilson was also responsible for the treaty of versailles, which basically reorganized the european borders and made germany sign humiliating surrender arrangements, according to which russia's tzar nicholas ii would have got half of europe and some of the near east. however nicholas didn't live to enjoy his wwi spoils and was soon dead himself with his family, left to die by his allies britain and america who were funding tzar's enemies - the bolsheviks - behind his back, which was the biggest secret of the soviet regime.

Woodrow wilson is also responsible for the formation of yugoslavia and the wars that ensued as a result of it. although the republicans under bush senior have started the war in ugoslavia it was the democrats under clinton who have finished it.

2. us president franklin delano roosevelt aka fdr (democratic party) took america to and through wwii and then was killed himself in 1945 three weeks before the death of hitler, on his fourth term, while in good health under mysterious circumstances. fdr was good friends with stalin and did not want fight war anymore. however he did not live to enjoy his spoils either. according to the official story fdr died from heart attack, however when stalin heard of the premature death of his wwii ally, he asked gromyko, then ambassador to the us, to check on the body of fdr and three times gromyko made request and every time was refused to see the dead fdr's body. this has aroused stalin's suspicions and he became convinced that the fdr was killed when during his funeral the fdr's casket was closed throughout the ceremony and never was allowed to be opened, even though gromyko, under the pressure of stalin's orders, was insisting on seeing the fdr's body. when later fdr's son came for a visit to moscow, stalin has told him that his father, fdr, was killed. thus far not even a single book is published about the mysterious death of four terms us president, except for one mention about it in the book written by fdr's son, in comparison to over five hundred books written about jfk assassination.

3. us president harry s. truman (democratic party) took united states to the korean war, yet another fantastic disaster.

4. us president lyndon baines johnson (democratic party) was responsible for the vietnam mess us has found itself in.

Pubes only managed to pull off half-assed campaign in iraq under bush senior fighting desert storms in footsteps of nero and half of war in ugoslavia, so compare to the democrats, the republicans are peace loving angels. give peace a chance, vote republican! :)
